What is Reiki?

Reiki is a form of alternative therapy commonly referred to as energy healing. It originated in Japan in the early 20th century and involves the transfer of universal energy from the practitioner's palms to their patient. Reiki practitioners believe that they are facilitating the patient's own healing capabilities by strengthening their energy. It’s often used for stress reduction, relaxation, and symptom relief in efforts to improve overall health and well-being.

What can I expect during a Reiki session?

During a Reiki session, you will typically lie down on a massage table fully clothed. The practitioner will place their hands lightly on or just above your body, using different hand shapes, for several minutes in each position. The hands may be placed over specific areas where injuries or pain are concentrated, or they may move around the body according to the practitioner's assessment of your energy needs. The session usually lasts between 45 minutes to an hour, during which clients may experience warmth, tingling, or relaxation.
